All candidates* must register to participate in commencement ceremonies. 
*Except for Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), Human Medicine (MD), and Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

Register to Participate

Osteopathic Medicine, Veterinary Medicine and Law ceremonies are around two hours. Human Medicine is about three hours. No admission tickets required. Please refer your guests to the Guests page for more information.

Instructions to Professional Degree Candidates

Hooding and Commencement Ceremony Policies

Individuals participating in the hooding of graduates during the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Hooding and Commencement Ceremony (Spring Semester), must possess a terminal (doctoral) degree which can include, D.O., M.D., D.D.S., D.V.M., J.D., D.P.M., O.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D., etc. Hooders may include: parent, spouse/fiancé, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, in-law, alumni, or mentor.  A maximum of two individuals can hood a graduate. If the graduate does not have an individual that matches the criteria listed previously, alternatively a MSUCOM faculty member (with a terminal degree) can be asked or assigned to participate.
