All candidates* must register to participate in commencement ceremonies. Registration to open at the start of the spring semester.

*Except Human Medicine (MD) and Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

 

Veterinary Medicine and Law ceremonies are about two hours. Human Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine ceremonies are about three hours. No admission tickets required. Please refer your guests to the Guests page for more information.

All candidates must register to participate in their ceremony. Registration to open at the start of the spring semester.

Hooding and Commencement Ceremony Policies

Individuals participating in the hooding of graduates during the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Hooding and Commencement Ceremony (Spring Semester), must possess a terminal (doctoral) degree which can include, D.O., M.D., D.D.S., D.V.M., J.D., D.P.M., O.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D., etc. Hooders may include: parent, spouse/fiancé, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, in-law, alumni, or mentor.  A maximum of two individuals can hood a graduate. If the graduate does not have an individual that matches the criteria listed previously, alternatively a MSUCOM faculty member (with a terminal degree) can be asked or assigned to participate.
