Each ceremony includes the conferral of degrees, the individual recognition of candidates, and a speech by a graduating senior selected by Senior Class Council.

BE THE STUDENT SPEAKER. Senior Class Council will select two gradauting seniors to deliver the student speech at each baccalaureate degree ceremony (one for the morning ceremony and one for the afternoon ceremony). Speeches are to be no longer than 4-5 minutes. If you are interested in representing the class of 2009, please fill out an application and submit your speech. Speeches must be submitted by Friday, October 23. 

Academic apparel is required for participation. Your family and friends are invited. Admission tickets are not required. To avoid delays, graduates and guests should not bring large bags to ceremonies; bags may be searched.

Visit the Commencement Connection to order CAP AND GOWN ($23.00 plus sales tax) and ANNOUNCEMENTS. Or purchase at the Spartan Spirit Shop, MSU Union Building. Parking

Shuttle Bus Service

BRESLIN SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE. There is NO CHARGE. Breslin shuttle bus service is Saturday, December 12, from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Shuttle buses are accessible. We strongly recommend that graduates and their guests use the shuttle service. Shuttle buses run every 15 minutes, from: 

  • Ramp 5 (Trowbridge Road at the Communication Arts and Sciences Building), stopping in front of the ramp.

  • Lot 79 (south side of Spartan Stadium), stopping on Shaw Lane.

  • Lot 89 (Commuter lot) at the northwest corner of Mt. Hope Rd. and Farm Lane. Stops at the Bus Shelter.
